Kyle Heckman is a 21 year old college-student majoring in Marketing and minoring in music at Rowan University. His passion for music began at the age of 10, and he started taking private lessons for the clarinet and piano.
Growing up his desire to perform inspired him to practice for hours every day.
He found himself outgrowing and switching teachers every few years in order to continue improving his abilities.
In the sixth grade he became the second person in the history of his middle school to audition and be accepted into All South Jersey Band, an honor group of elite music students.
By the time he entered high school, All South Jersey and All State Band auditions offered new opportunities for Kyle. Of the top eight performers in the State of New Jersey, Kyle ranked fourth, and was placed in Wind Ensemble, a position fit for only the finest musicians.
Kyle's dedication to his passion helped him recognize that the public school system could not offer him the same opportunities as that of a private school. Therefore, he applied for Charter Tech inSouth Jersey, an outstanding school for only the most gifted artists.
They welcomed Kyle with open arms, and it was there he began developing a deeper understanding for the technical aspects of music. Because of his trememnous performance abilities, he became one of the youngest memebers of the Rowan University Concert Band at only 16 years old.
From high school Kyle proceeded to major in Performing Arts on the clarinet for two years before switching to the Marketing program. |
